Who we are looking for
We are looking for a pragmatic and highly skilled
Software Engineer (AI / LLM focus)
to join a high-impact, small, and high-trust team within a fast-paced
Fintech context .
This is a hands-on backend engineering role designed for someone who has successfully shipped and operated LLM-powered applications in production. You will bridge advanced AI capabilities with robust, scalable, and secure backend systems. We need someone who not only writes clean production code but also brings strong architectural vision, strategic thinking, and the confidence to drive technical decisions in complex environments.
Role Overview
As a Software Engineer in the AI team, you will design, write,
and operate core backend microservices integrating cutting-edge AI technologies. You will build production-ready systems, implementing orchestration frameworks, RAG pipelines, evaluations, and guardrails—all while maintaining high standards for security, performance, cost/latency trade-offs, and data governance.
Key Responsibilities
Production AI Systems:
Build, deploy, and maintain scalable LLM-driven features in production environments.
Backend & System Design:
Write production-grade backend services, applying strong software architecture design patterns and event-driven architectures.
AI Tooling & Orchestration:
Implement RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and agentic workflows using the modern AI tooling landscape.
Security & Governance:
Design system architectures with strict identity, access control, and privacy standards for sensitive fintech data.
Strategic Collaboration:
Act as a technical voice in cross-functional discussions, challenging assumptions and aligning engineering implementation with business strategy.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have:
Production LLM Experience:
Proven track record of shipping and operating LLM-based features in production.
Backend Mastery:
Strong hands-on engineering background writing reliable, production-ready backend services.
TypeScript:
Native fluency in TypeScript.
Functional Programming:
Deep familiarity with functional programming principles (Scala exposure is a major plus).
Architecture & Messaging:
Solid expertise in software architecture design patterns and Event-Driven Architectures (e.g., Kafka, Event Sourcing, async messaging).
AI Engineering Stack:
Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks, modern RAG patterns, automated evaluations (evals), and safety guardrails.
Governance & Security:
Clear understanding of identity, access management (IAM), and strict data governance when integrating LLMs with sensitive systems.
Pragmatism:
Strong judgment on cost vs. latency trade-offs and pragmatic model selection.
Strategic Mindset:
Comfortable shaping technical direction, speaking up in strategic conversations, and pushing back when necessary.
Nice-to-Have:
Direct experience in
regulated industries
(Financial Services, Healthcare, Legal).
Working knowledge of
Scala
(to seamlessly integrate with our backend Scala services).
Familiarity with
Python .
Understanding of European data & privacy frameworks ( GDPR , FCA expectations).
Full-stack or Mobile breadth (as the broader ecosystem spans Web and Mobile). xjncmbx
Experience in small, high-trust engineering teams where engineers directly influence product and strategy.
