Antegris
Antegris builds custom software, robotics and AI for companies in complex industries. Most of our work sits where software meets real machines: control systems for semiconductor metrology equipment, unified SCADA layers across, embedded and industrial automation software, computer vision, and AI systems.
We are a small ambitious team, which means the person we hire will own real parts of real systems from day one.
We are now hiring a Systems & Embedded Software Engineer to join us.
What you would work on
- Systems engineering: turning a use case into a real architecture, defining interfaces between modules, and writing the interface control documents that keep a multi-partner project coherent.
- Embedded and real-time software in C++ and C, including low-latency data loops, message-based communication (gRPC, ZeroMQ, Protobuf) and deterministic execution under tight timing budgets.
- Simulation and test infrastructure: digital twins, software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop setups, fault injection campaigns, and regression suites that produce evidence rather than opinions.
- Integration work across our semiconductor and industrial clients: control systems, embedded software, applied AI and computer vision.
Nobody does all of this on day one. We are looking for someone strong in several of these areas and genuinely interested in the rest.
What we are looking for
- Solid C++ (and ideally C) for embedded or real-time systems. You have debugged things that only fail on the target hardware.
- Experience integrating software with physical systems: industrial equipment, robotics, embedded platforms, semiconductor tools, instrumentation, or similar.
- A systems mindset. You think about interfaces, failure modes and what happens at three in the morning, not only about the happy path.
- Comfort with Python for tooling, analysis and simulation work.
- Clear written and spoken English. German is a plus. In a distributed team, writing is most of how we work.
- Useful but not required: control theory or optimisation, machine learning and model deployment on constrained hardware, RISC-V or other embedded architectures, Linux build and toolchain work, safety standards (ECSS, IEC 61508, DO-178C or equivalent).
We care more about what you have built than about which degree you hold or how many years are on your CV.
The role
This is a remote position . We are a Zurich-based company and work with European partners, so we ask that you are based in a European time zone and can travel occasionally for project meetings and integration work.
How to apply
Send your application to (email hidden).
Please include
1. Your CV.
2. A short cover note. Half a page is plenty. Tell us what you have built and why this role interests you.
3. Your salary expectations. Please state a figure or a range. Applications without it will not be considered, and we would rather find out early whether we are in the same range than waste your time.
4. Links to anything you are proud of: code, a project, a paper, a system you shipped.
One request on the cover note. We read every one, and we would rather read three plain sentences you actually wrote than a polished page produced by AI. Simple, direct writing is what we want. Questions before applying are welcome at the same address.
