Overview As Head of Risk Engineering in Milan, you will shape the strategy for Constructions and Corporate Client risks in the Italian market and align local efforts with the Group to meet Allianz Mid Corporate targets. You will be the primary contact for agents and brokers collaborating with the Risk Engineering Team. You lead cross-functional engagement to optimize underwriting performance and portfolio mix, and you drive development of new or modified products. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership to elevate risk assessment and underwriting quality across the business.
Responsabilità
Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines Steer and control the portfolio at local level to drive financial targets Liaise with functional areas to review end-to-end underwriting life cycle performance Collaborate with Sales, Risk Consulting,
Claims and other product lines to support marketing strategies including cross-selling Ensure underwriting consistency and adherence to corporate guidelines and local regulatory framework Support development and implementation of new or modified products Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business, including agent/broker negotiations Communicate local business strategy externally
Requisiti fondamentali
Master's degree in Industrial, Civil, Construction or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Between 15 and 25 years of proven underwriting experience in risk engineering for corporate and construction risks and Engineering Professional Firms Proven leadership skills Expertise in risk assessment and understanding policy administration life cycle Strong pricing knowledge with market analysis skills Experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent wordings (ideally) Experience in driving underwriting projects (ideally) Entrepreneurial mindset Strong communication skills Ability to work in an international organization Fluent in English and Italian (written and spoken) Data analytics Very good knowledge in Office 365 and other collaborative tools leadership strong communication entrepreneurial mindset risk assessment pricing and market analysis policy administration life cycle
