We are looking for aPostdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Computingto join our multidisciplinaryScientific and Quantum Computing (SciQC)team.
Based in Trieste, Italy, Elettra is an international synchrotron and free-electron laser facility at the forefront of advanced scientific research and technology.
What you’ll work on

- Quantum algorithms and methods
- Performance evaluation on real quantum hardware and HPC simulations
- Scientific computing for large-scale experimental data
- Cross‑disciplinary research bridging quantum computing and synchrotron science
The position is part ofQUASAR FVG project(FSC - 44620/25 GRFVG, CUP: D93C25 , aiming to advance scalable quantum computing platforms,
particularly in the context of neutral‑atom technologies.

Profile

- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with experience in:
- Quantum computing (algorithms, frameworks such as Qiskit or similar)
- Computational methods & data analysis
- Scientific software development in Linux environments
