This position may evolve into Senior Product Designer or Lead Design Engineer, depending on performance and contribution to Institute Itech's design and innovation portfolio.

About the Role:
Institute Itech is seeking a creative and technically versatile Junior Product Designer to join its design team in a hybrid capacity between Milan and international project contexts. The role sits at the intersection of industrial design, 3D modeling, architectural visualization, and illustration — and is transversal across all of Institute Itech's flagship projects.
The selected candidate will contribute to the visual and physical definition of Institute Itech's products and platforms, from early-stage concept sketches and technical illustrations through to detailed 3D models, architectural renders, and presentation-ready design outputs. The role requires someone equally comfortable working on physical product form and spatial design as on visual storytelling and technical illustration.
This is an ideal opportunity for a recently graduated or early-career designer with a strong visual sensibility and a genuine passion for design at the boundary of technology, nature, and urban innovation.
Responsibilities:
Product Design & 3D Modeling
- Develop 3D models of Institute Itech's products, systems,
and physical components across all flagship projects
- Create detailed and presentation-ready renderings of products, installations, and technology platforms
- Iterate on product form, materiality, and geometry in close collaboration with engineering and research teams
- Support the design of physical prototypes and contribute to design-for-manufacturing considerations
Architectural Design & Spatial Visualization
- Develop architectural visualizations, spatial layouts, and environmental renders for urban and installation contexts
- Support the visual design of deployment scenarios for projects including Balloon™, Oxyleaf™, Biocity™, and Terra™
- Produce high-quality perspective views, section drawings, and annotated spatial layouts for internal and external presentations
- Contribute to the integration of Institute Itech's products within urban, natural, and architectural environments
Illustration & Visual Communication
- Create technical and conceptual illustrations for internal reports, publications, investor presentations, and institutional communications
- Develop infographics, exploded views, and schematic diagrams to communicate complex systems and products clearly
- Support the production of visual assets for social media, editorial, and branding purposes
- Contribute to the visual identity of Institute Itech's flagship projects in coordination with the communications team
Cross-Project Design Contribution
- Apply design expertise transversally across Memoria™, Oxyleaf™, Terra™, Polaris™, Balloon™, and Biocity™
- Participate in design reviews, concept development sessions, and cross-functional planning meetings
- Translate technical briefs and engineering constraints into coherent, compelling design solutions
- Support the preparation of design documentation, mood boards, and visual concept packages
Documentation & Asset Management
- Maintain organized libraries of 3D assets, render files, illustrations, and design documentation
- Contribute to internal design guidelines and visual standards
- Support knowledge transfer and onboarding of future design team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Architecture, or a closely related discipline
- Up to 0–3 years of experience in product design, 3D modeling, or architectural visualization (academic and thesis experience considered)
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software (Rhino, SolidWorks, Blender, KeyShot, or equivalent)
- Strong skills in 2D illustration and technical drawing (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with architectural visualization tools (Lumion, V-Ray, Enscape, or equivalent)
- Strong visual sensibility and attention to compositional, material, and formal detail
- Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously in a structured and organized manner
- Fluent Italian (mandatory)
- Fluent English (mandatory)
Preferred Qualifications
- Portfolio demonstrating product design, 3D visualization, architectural rendering, and illustration work
- Experience with parametric design tools (Grasshopper, Dynamo, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with design-for-manufacturing principles and prototyping processes
- Interest in sustainable design, environmental technology, or urban innovation
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics or animation for product visualization (After Effects, Cinema 4D, or equivalent)
- Experience with UX/UI design or digital product visualization
- Familiarity with physical prototyping techniques (3D printing, laser cutting, model making)

Compensation
Annual Gross Salary: €40,000-€44,000, in line with junior product design profiles.
Additional performance-based incentives may be provided based on project contribution and design milestones achieved.
