In this role you partner with Procurement, Engineering and R&D to integrate procurement insights into development work, driving cost, quality and technology outcomes. You translate engineering needs into actionable procurement parameters and manage prototype parts delivery with suppliers. You oversee procurement gate activities and maintain project documentation, while aiming to meet cost and quality targets across development stages. This position supports ABB’s energy distribution and smart building initiatives, delivering measurable impact through cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsabilità
- Interface between Procurement, Engineering and R&D; to inject procurement knowledge into development processes
- Translate engineering requests into procurement parameters for execution
- Manage ordering and on-time delivery of prototype parts with suppliers per project plans
- Lead procurement Gate Model activities, organize gate meetings, and maintain related procurement documentation
- Estimate initial cost and quality to achieve cost/quality targets
- Optimize cost and quality throughout development projects
Requisiti fondamentali
- Should-cost modeling, value chain analysis, and supplier development experience
- 5+ years in procurement within New Product Development (NPD) as Procurement Engineer or Project Buyer
- Experience with mechanical/electromechanical/electronics components and systems
- Proficiency in SAP, SAP Ariba or equivalent ERP; comfortable with PLM and project management tools
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills; continuous improvement mindset
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or proven SCM/Business Administration with technical background
- Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken)
