Operations Director - Italy Extra High Voltage (EHV) Power Transmission Lines Milan, Italy | On-site Permanent Position Lead the Future of Power Transmission in Italy An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and entrepreneurial Operations Director to spearhead the establishment and expansion of a high-voltage power transmission business in Italy. This is a unique leadership role for a senior professional who combines strong commercial acumen, strategic vision, and deep expertise in the transmission infrastructure sector. You will play a critical role in building and scaling a new operation, developing key industry relationships, securing major projects, and driving long-term business growth in one of Europe's most important energy markets.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Development Lead the implementation of the company's market entry and growth strategy in Italy. Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the power transmission sector. Build strong relationships with transmission system operators, utility companies, EPC contractors, engineering firms, public authorities, and key industry stakeholders.

Analyze market opportunities, project pipelines, competitive dynamics, and industry trends to support strategic decision-making. Develop and execute short, medium, and long-term business growth plans. Establish strategic partnerships and identify opportunities for collaboration across European markets.

Support international expansion initiatives and strengthen the company's position within the transmission infrastructure sector. Commercial & Financial Leadership Prepare, negotiate, and present commercial proposals and contract strategies. Drive revenue growth and ensure sustainable profitability.

Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, margins, cash flow, invoicing, and cost control.



Evaluate commercial and technical viability of opportunities before project commitment. Manage contract administration and mitigate commercial and operational risks.

Organization

Building & Leadership Build, develop, and lead the Italian organization from the ground up. Define organizational structures, workforce planning, and resource requirements. Recruit and mentor key management and technical personnel.

Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and succession planning initiatives. Foster a high-performance culture aligned with corporate objectives. Promote collaboration between local operations and international business units.

Supplier & Partner Network Development Establish and maintain a trusted network of subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers. Identify qualified partners for engineering, construction, civil works, equipment supply, and specialized transmission services. Ensure operational readiness to support future project execution throughout Italy.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with Italian legal, regulatory, and certification requirements. Maintain the highest standards in health, safety, environmental, and quality management. Verify that employees, suppliers, and subcontractors hold all required qualifications, certifications, and permits.

Support corporate governance and risk management processes.

What We're Looking For Industry Experience Extensive experience within the High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission line sector . Demonstrated track record working on overhead transmission line projects ranging from 150 kV to 380 kV . Strong understanding of power transmission infrastructure, grid development,



contracting models, and utility environments.

Experience working with transmission operators, utilities, EPC contractors, or major infrastructure organizations.

Background in business development, market expansion, commercial management, or the launch of new operations within the transmission sector.

Commercial Expertise

Proven success identifying and securing new business opportunities. Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Experience leading large-scale infrastructure contracts and strategic client relationships. Ability to combine technical understanding with commercial decision-making.

Leadership Capabilities

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale an organization. Strong leadership presence and team development skills. Strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving abilities. Education & Languages Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related field. Native or fluent Italian is essential.
