Job Overview: The Engineering Data Coordinator is responsible for managing and governing engineering data across multiple engineering disciplines and systems, ensuring compliance with Client’s specifications, standards and project execution philosophies. The role requires a strong engineering background combined with expertise in engineering data management, digital workflows and cross-functional coordination.
Responsibilities Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Engineering Data Governance
- Analyse and develop project-specific data management requirements and workflows, including:
- Project Class Libraries
- Tagging Procedures and Standards
- Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) philosophy and hierarchy
- Engineering database delivery requirements and frequencies
- Client-specific data management specifications
- Establish and maintain engineering data governance processes to ensure consistency, integrity and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Data Quality Management
- Ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of engineering data across all project systems and disciplines. Validate:
- Correctness of tags
- Completeness of mandatory properties and attributes
- Consistency and alignment of identifiers across 2D, 3D and other engineering data sources
- Monitor and resolve data discrepancies, conflicts and inconsistencies.
- Evaluate and implement data validation rules and controls within key engineering tools to minimize manual errors and prevent non-compliant tagging practices.
Data Deliverables Management
- Coordinate the preparation and maintenance of engineering data deliverables, including:
- Vendor data templates
- Asset Registers
- Life Cycle Information (LCI) deliverables
- Engineering master data registers
- Client-specific data packages
- Manage the delivery of engineering databases and related documentation to the Client in accordance with approved Data Handover Plans and project requirements.
Issue Resolution and Stakeholder Management
- Identify, track,
and expedite the resolution of data-related issues, including:
- Data quality concerns
- Process gaps
- Classification and tagging conflicts
- Cross-discipline data integration issues
- Provide regular status updates and reporting to project management and Client representatives.
- Act as the primary focal point for engineering data-related discussions and coordination activities.
Collaboration with IT and Digital Teams
- Work closely with project IT and engineering systems teams to implement required data management solutions, enhancements and corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement of engineering data processes, standards and digital execution strategies.

- Prepare the Information Management Execution Plan for the project
- Prepare IM estimates and control spending within the allocated budgets

- Detect and manage project scope changes
- Coordinate the project-specific infrastructure setup for construction sites, client resident teams, and joint venture partners in cooperation with Project IT
- Specify and coordinate the processes and tools for data collection, validation consolidation, and handover to the Client
- Single point of contact to project management and the Client for Information Management
- Translate project-specific information requirements into efficient system configurations and related user instructions
- Prepare functional specifications and manage the development and implementation of project-specific applications and/or interfaces
- Capture lessons learned, and best practices and ensure their embedding in the organization
- Initiate and conduct Information Management (IM) audits and peer reviews
- Train and coach personnel for and on assignments
- Provide input to audits and peer reviews and undertake other project audits as required
Qualifications Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience working with major engineering design and information/data management systems
- Strong understanding of engineering data management, tagging methodologies, AWP principles and project information requirements.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering data and client data handover activities.
- Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
