The CU helps FAO and WFP Staff by providing an avenue for their savings as well as extending them credit facilities. It is a convenient, free of charge and hassle-free service, with offices at both FAO and WFP. /p pThe position is located in the FAO Credit Union within the Finance Division (CSF) at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. /p h3Main Purpose /h3 pThe Teller (FAO Credit Union)



performs a large variety of routine administrative and financial duties in support of the CU's activities and in particular executes loans and savings related transactions in two currencies and performs the end of day activities. The incumbent exercises judgment, identifies errors and supports sound financial practice. /p h3Supervision Received/Exercised /h3 pThe Teller (FAO Credit Union) reports to the Member Services Officer, CSFU. He/she acts independently in routine matters. Supervision received is focused on the quality of the work performed and provides for on-the-job learning. /p h3Working Relationships /h3 pThe Teller (FAO Credit Union) interacts with a variety of colleagues within the work unit and with immediate clients served within the Organization, providing routine assistance to promote the effective and efficient delivery of finance-related services. /p h3Key Functions/Results /h3 ul liProcess member savings and loan transaction requests; /li liApply CU rules and policies governing loans and savings; /li liAssist members with the CU account opening/closures and online services. /li liPerform support operations (bank reconciliations, depositing credit notes, creating beneficiary account templates, account certificates and other miscellaneous requests); /li liPerform End of Day and Quarterly processing; /li liLiaise with members on matters relating to their CU account. /li liEnsure proper archiving of member's correspondence and filing of the End of Day reports; /li liUpdate members' records regarding personnel actions; /li liPerform other duties as required. /li /ul h3Impact Of Work /h3 pThe incumbent's work impacts on the timely and efficient delivery of financial support services and on the overall output of the work unit. Working in an efficient, precise and confidential manner strengthens the trust between members and the Credit Union. /p h3CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING /h3 ul liEducation: Secondary School Education. /li liExperience: Two years of relevant experience in finance / budget-related support work. /li liLanguages: Working knowledge (proficiency - level C) of English. /li liIT Skills: Good knowledge of the MS Office applications, Internet and office technology equipment. /li /ul h3Residency: /h3 pGeneral Service Staff are recruited locally. To be eligible for this position, candidates must be nationals of the country of the duty station or possess an existing valid visa to work or a valid work permit, and reside within commuting distance of the duty station at the time of the application.



"Commuting distance" means the distance within which staff members can travel daily between their place of work and their residence /p h3Technical Skills /h3 ul liKnowledge of the communication and documentation standards. /li liKnowledge of corporate computerized financial / travel / human resources systems and administrative procedures and policies. /li liThorough knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and experience in accounting and dual currency transactions. /li liAbility to analyse situations accurately and carry out instructions with limited supervision. /li liCustomer service orientation, initiative, good planning skills and ability to establish priorities, standards and deadlines.
