The CU helps FAO and WFP Staff by providing an avenue for their savings as well as extending them credit facilities. It is a convenient, free of charge and hassle-free service, with offices at both FAO and WFP. /ppThe position is located in the FAO Credit Union within the Finance Division (CSF) at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy.



/ph3Main Purpose /h3pThe Teller (FAO Credit Union) performs a large variety of routine administrative and financial duties in support of the CU's activities and in particular executes loans and savings related transactions in two currencies and performs the end of day activities. The incumbent exercises judgment, identifies errors and supports sound financial practice. /ph3Key Functions/Results /h3ulliProcess member savings and loan transaction requests; /liliApply CU rules and policies governing loans and savings; /liliAssist members with the CU account opening/closures and online services. /liliPerform support operations (bank reconciliations, depositing credit notes, creating beneficiary account templates, account certificates and other miscellaneous requests); /liliPerform End of Day and Quarterly processing; /liliLiaise with members on matters relating to their CU account. /liliEnsure proper archiving of member's correspondence and filing of the End of Day reports; /liliUpdate members' records regarding personnel actions; /liliPerform other duties as required. /li /ulh3Impact Of Work /h3pThe incumbent's work impacts on the timely and efficient delivery of financial support services and on the overall output of the work unit. Working in an efficient, precise and confidential manner strengthens the trust between members and the Credit Union. /ph3CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING /h3ullibEducation: /bSecondary School Education. /lilibExperience: /b Two years of relevant experience in finance / budget-related support work. /lilibLanguages: /bWorking knowledge (proficiency - level C) of English. /lilibIT Skills: /bGood knowledge of the MS Office applications, Internet and office technology equipment. /lilibResidency: /b General Service Staff are recruited locally. To be eligible for this position, candidates must be nationals of the country of the duty station or possess an existing valid visa to work or a valid work permit, and reside within commuting distance of the duty station at the time of the application. "Commuting distance" means the distance within which staff members can travel daily between their place of work and their residence /li /ulh3Technical Skills /h3ulliKnowledge of the communication and documentation standards.



/liliKnowledge of corporate computerized financial / travel / human resources systems and administrative procedures and policies. /liliThorough knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and experience in accounting and dual currency transactions. /liliAbility to analyse situations accurately and carry out instructions with limited supervision. /liliCustomer service orientation, initiative, good planning skills and ability to establish priorities, standards and deadlines.
