For our own projects, we are looking for: Field Services Engineer – Bar & Tube Finishing Lines
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: Minimum 1 year, divided across multiple assignments/contracts
Work Locations: Mexico, Europe and India
Rotation: Up to 90 days on site / 14 days off
Duties
- Coordinate and execute the commissioning and start-up of bar and tube finishing plants and production lines.
- Supervise electromechanical and mechatronic activities from installation through commissioning, final testing and handover.
- Support equipment including:
- 2-roll straightening machines
- Multi-roll straightening machines
- Inspection and reconditioning systems
- Peeling machines
- Combined coil-to-bar drawing lines
- Draw benches
- Chamfering machines
- Shears
- Abrasive and disc cutting machines
- Coordinate and provide technical support to automation personnel during commissioning activities.
- Identify and manage technical and operational issues encountered during installation and commissioning.
- Interface continuously with Project Management and technical departments.
- Liaise with the commissioning representatives to ensure activities are completed according to contractual technical specifications.
- Support final testing and acceptance activities.
- Provide training and technical support to the operating personnel.
Requirements
- Technical Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Aeronautical Engineering/Technology or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience as an Electromechanical or Mechatronic Commissioning / Start-Up Technician is preferred.
- Experience with bar and tube finishing equipment is highly valued.
- Candidates with experience in machine tools, automated production lines or similar industrial machinery will also be considered.
- Ability to read mechanical technical drawings, electrical diagrams, hydraulic schematics and pneumatic schematics.
- Good knowledge of English.
- Strong leadership, teamwork and coordination skills.
- Good communication and client-facing abilities.
- Availability for long-term international assignments and travel.
- Junior technical profiles interested in developing their career in commissioning may also be considered and trained on the specific equipment.
