Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC)
Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.
Purpose of the position
As Welding Technologie Engineer you will be part of the Offshore E&C;/Asset Based Service Business Line.
The Welding Technologie Engineer is part of Pipeline Technologies Group which includes Welding, NDT, Field Joint Coating and Weld Integrity disciplines. The Pipeline Technologies Group offers internal services for welding, NDT and Field Joint Coating to Saipem projects.
The Welding Technologies Engineer (WTE) is responsible for the welding operations offshore/onshore. He ensures the quality and the productivity are achieved in compliance with project requirements (Company specifications and applicable international standards) and approved project welding procedures.
Onboard/On site, the WTE leads the welding team (Welder Foreman, Welders, Beveling machine operators, Welding Equipment technician), and coordinates with the NDT and Coating disciplines.
The WTE is accountable for the welding productivity and quality. The accountable KPIs are the critical welding cycle time, rejection rates and mechanical breakdown of welding equipment. WTE is
