Internships in Axxam:
We are currently looking for internships at Axxam in two different areas, specifically:
a Lab Technician, for our Early Drug Discovery Department
a Procurement Specialist, for our Procurement Group.

LAB TECHNICIAN – EARLY DRUG DISCOVERY DEPARTMENT

The person we are looking for is highly organized, proactive, and diligent with exceptional attention to detail to oversee laboratory warehouse and solutions preparation collaborating effectively with scientists, external vendors, and cross-functional teams to support research and program objectives. The candidate will contribute to maintain an efficient biology-focused laboratory, with duties including solution preparation,



consumable/reagent management and routine laboratory equipment maintenance scheduling. The candidate is expected to have the following characteristics:
Commitment to accomplish the duties required by the day-by-day work
Good capacity to manage her/his time
Problem-solving attitude
Capacity to perform team-work activities, dealing with internal clients in pro-active attitude
Strong active listening skills and highly adaptable to changing priorities
Flexibility in terms of work hours and peak activities.

She/he will join a team responsible in supporting Axxam’s laboratories’ activity and is expected to adhere to company SOPs when performing lab functions, maintaining paperwork and batch records.

The following skills would be advantageous:
Experience in managing laboratory inventory, ordering, procurement, and vendor relationships
A diploma in chemical technology
English knowledge
Good team player
Attitude to work with tight deadlines with a sense of urgency
Attitude to follow instruction closely, but also to work independently when required.

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST – PROCUREMENT GROUP

The primary objective of a Procurement Specialist is to obtain goods and services for the organization in a cost-effective and timely manner.



In addition to this, Procurement Specialists are also responsible for ensuring the quality of purchased goods and services and minimizing the associated risks.

Core job responsibilities:
Register orders in Business Central portal
Sourcing to identify new suppliers
Ensure receipt of services to meet contract terms
Planning and creating purchase orders (POs) to maintain adequate material flow based on forecasting
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
Knowledge of import/export procedures.

Required knowledge and skills:
Good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Good skills with IT tools
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Fluency in English, written and spoken
Attention to detail and precision
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
