Keysight is looking for a Wireless Protocol Software Engineer with strong 3GPP protocol expertise, focused on Layer 1 (L1) and Scheduler, to contribute to advanced 5G and pre‑6G wireless technology development.
In this role, you will work close to standards and real implementations,
translating evolving 3GPP specifications into robust, high‑performance software capabilities. You will contribute directly to early 6G pre‑standard implementations, shaping how next‑generation wireless systems are designed, validated, and deployed.
This role operates in a multi‑site international engineering environment, at the intersection of standards, algorithms, and real‑world systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement optimized software aligned with 5G L1 algorithms and protocols
- Develop and enhance UE and base station emulation
- Contribute to pre‑6G standards, following 3GPP evolution
- Translate evolving requirements (3GPP releases, operator acceptance needs, O‑RAN priorities) into clear software designs, test workflows, and reusable components
- Collaborate with cross‑functional experts (systems, RF, protocol, product, customers/partners) to reproduce field issues, debug complex behaviors, and deli
