We are now looking for an Investment Analysis Associate to join our team in Milan.
The team
At OX2 you will work in an international, entrepreneurial environment with colleagues committed to accelerating the energy transition.
In Italy, the team is developing projects across solar, agrivoltaics, wind, and energy storage, supporting the country's transition to a sustainable and decarbonized energy system.
The Investment Analysis team is a central function that works across the organization at every stage of a project, from early development, through the financing process and transactions, to ongoing operations. The team is responsible for providing the organization with commercial and business case insight to guide business decisions and direction.
About the Role
As an Investment Analysis Associate, you will drive financial modelling, valuation, and data analysis to support investment decisions across our projects. This is a hands‑on analytical role focused on building robust financial models, analyzing complex datasets, and developing investment business cases. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will support transactions and project evaluations through high‑quality quantitative insights and commercial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models for renewable energy projects and portfolios
- Perform valuation, scenario analysis, and sensitivity modelling to assess investment opportunities
- Develop and update data‑driven business cases across the project lifecycle
- Analyse market data, assumptions, and risk factors to support investment decisions
- Prepare clear, structured decision materials based on quantitative insights
- Support transaction processes with analytical input and modelling
- Contribute to improving modelling standards, valuation methods, and internal tools
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality data and assumptions
Qualifications & Experience
- Academic background in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or similar
- 2+ years of experience in investment analysis, M&A;, valuation, transaction services, or similar
- Experience from a Big Four firm combined with exposure to the energy or renewable energy industry is considered a strong advantage
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and numerical capabilities, with attention to detail
- Experience working with data, structured analysis, and quantitative problem‑solving
- Fluent in English and Italian is a must
- Interest in renewable energy and infrastructure investments
