As the organisation continues to expand its engineering capability, they are looking to add an experienced Optical Engineer to their multidisciplinary team. /p pThis is an opportunity to work on the design, development, integration, and testing of high-performance optical systems used in demanding space applications. /p h3The Role /h3 pAs an Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of optical systems from concept through to integration and verification. You'll collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, electronics, and manufacturing engineers to ensure optical performance is achieved throughout the product lifecycle. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDesign and develop optical systems and optical assemblies for aerospace applications. /li liPerform optical modelling, performance analysis, and engineering trade-off studies. /li liConduct tolerance analyses and optimise designs for manufacture and integration. /li liDefine optical performance budgets and verification approaches. /li liDevelop optical alignment concepts, procedures, and test methodologies. /li liSpecify optical components and support supplier selection and technical reviews. /li liSupport assembly, integration,
alignment, and environmental testing activities. /li liCarry out optical performance assessments and radiometric analyses. /li liProduce clear engineering documentation, including design reports, test procedures, and technical specifications. /li liWork closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and project stakeholders throughout development. /li /ul h3About You /h3 pWe're looking for engineers with a passion for optical systems and space technology who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges. /p ul liDegree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. /li liAt least 3 years' experience in optical engineering. /li liExperience designing and analysing precision optical systems. /li liKnowledge of optical modelling and performance analysis. /li liExperience with optical alignment and laboratory test setups. /li liUnderstanding of optical metrology techniques. /li liProficiency with optical design software such as Zemax . /li liExperience with stray-light analysis tools is advantageous. /li liStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. /li liExperience with telescope or imaging system design. /li liFamiliarity with optical manufacturing and precision assembly processes. /li liProgramming experience with MATLAB and/or Python. /li liPrevious experience within the aerospace or space sector. xrdbqlu /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
