Overview
In this role, you will contribute to the People Protection portfolio within ABB Smart Buildings, applying modern engineering methods and AI-driven approaches to improve product development.
You will work across the development cycle, from concept to prototyping and validation, partnering with labs, suppliers, and manufacturing.
Your focus is on technical robustness and continuous improvement of existing products.
This position offers a hands-on, international environment where you can drive design efficiency and cost reduction.

Responsabilità
Support Product Care activities for existing products to ensure robustness and competitiveness
Develop and modify 3D CAD models and technical documentation; run engineering studies and simulations for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
Design, build, and validate prototypes with laboratories, suppliers, and manufacturing teams; assist root cause analysis and cost reduction
Explore and apply new technologies, materials, digital engineering methods, and AI-based approaches to improve design and development processes
Collaborate with R&D;, Quality,
Operations, and suppliers across the product lifecycle
Contribute to engineering analyses, prototyping, testing, and industrialization support across the development cycle
Help scale and industrialize new solutions within the People Protection portfolio
Requisiti fondamentali
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Strong knowledge of 3D CAD design; experience with CATIA V5 and/or Creo
Basic knowledge of engineering simulations (structural, thermal, multiphysics) and prototype development
Interest in Digital Engineering, AI, and data-driven development; MATLAB knowledge is a plus
Knowledge of SAP and PLM/PDM systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office
Hands-on engineering mindset; proactive, curious, and able to learn in a dynamic, international setting
Bilingual Italian/English communication (written and spoken)
