ppWe are always on the lookout for a talent with a growth mindset – are you the one? /p pWärtsilä Marine Solutions is looking for a Simulation Expert to join the Structural Analysis team. /p pAs a member of the team, you will perform demanding numerical analyses using the Finite Element Method (FEM) and support product and technology development through advanced simulations and engineering expertise. /p pThe work consists of performing, analysing, and reporting simulations related to dynamics, fatigue, stress, and structural strength. The position is located in Vaasa, Finland and/or Trieste, Italy. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liPerforming and reporting mechanical simulations related to product and technology development projects. /li liDeveloping and maintaining simulation methodologies and processes to support first-time-right product development and reduce time to market. /li liSolving complex structural strength and durability challenges. /li liAnalysing simulation and measurement data to support engineering decisions. /li liIdentifying, proposing, and initiating training activities to maintain and further develop technical competencies. /li liFocusing on the following component areas: ul liCylinder heads and valve mechanisms /li liFuel systems /li liGas systems /li /ul /li liOptional area of responsibility: ul liNoise simulation development /li liMachine learning and digitalization development /li /ul /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liMSc or PhD degree in Engineering. /li liStrong theoretical knowledge of numerical analysis methods and tools, such as:
ul liAbaqus /li liHyperMesh /li liSimlab /li liOptistruct /li liOr similar simulation software /li /ul /li liGood communication skills in English. Knowledge of Finnish and/or Swedish is considered an advantage. /li liAbility to work effectively in an international organization. /li liA positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn. /li liFlexibility and strong teamwork skills. /li liAn innovative and solution-oriented mindset /li /ul h3We Appreciate /h3 ul liAI and data analytics skills, including: ul liMachine learning /li liSignal processing /li /ul /li liExperience with other numerical methods, such as: ul liComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) /li liNumerical noise analysis /li liMultiphysics simulations /li /ul /li /ul pThe primary location for this role is Finland, but bthis role can also be based in Italy /b where the annual salary range would be 42 313 EUR –59 298 EUR in accordance with the salary provisions in the National Collective Labor Agreement for workers in the metalworking and plant installation industry (CCNL Metalmeccanico).
