You will take ownership of complex projects involving satellite data, urban intelligence and environmental modelling.This is a key technical role: you will define methodologies, mentor junior analysts and serve as the primary GIS reference within the team. We are looking for someone with deep expertise in spatial analysis, strong programming skills and the ability to translate client requirements into robust geospatial solutions.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and execution of complex spatial analysis workflows for client projectsArchitect and manage enterprise geodatabases, ensuring data quality, consistency and accessibilityPerform advanced spatial modelling: multi-criteria analysis, suitability mapping, change detection, terrain analysisProcess and analyse satellite imagery (optical and SAR) for monitoring and mapping applicationsDesign and produce high-quality cartographic outputs and interactive web mapsMentor junior GIS analysts and conduct internal training sessionsInterface with clients to define requirements,
present results and provide technical consultancyEvaluate and integrate new geospatial technologies and data sources into company workflowsContribute to proposal writing and technical documentation for funded projectsMust-have RequirementsMinimum 4 years of professional experience in GIS analysis and spatial data managementExpert-level proficiency in QGIS and/or ArcGIS Pro with advanced geoprocessing capabilitiesStrong Python programming skills with geospatial libraries (geopandas, rasterio, shapely, fiona, arcpy)Deep knowledge of spatial databases: PostGIS, SpatiaLite or enterprise geodatabasesExperience with remote sensing data processing and analysis (Sentinel, Landsat, commercial VHR)Solid understanding of coordinate systems, projections, data formats and OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WCS)Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver quality outputs under deadlinesExcellent written and spoken English (C1+); Italian requiredDegree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Engineering, Computer Science or equivalentNice-to-have RequirementsExperience with Google Earth Engine, SNAP or ENVI for satellite data processingKnowledge of cloud-based geospatial platforms xysqume (GEE, AWS geospatial, Azure Maps)Familiarity with 3D GIS, CityGML, BIM-GIS integration or digital twin technologiesExperience with machine learning applied to geospatial data (image classification, object detection)Background in LiDAR processing, photogrammetry or UAV mappingContributions to open-source GIS projects or published geospatial researchPMP or equivalent project management certificationPersonal RequirementsTechnical leadership: ability to define methodologies and guide the team towards best practicesStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication: able to explain complex spatial concepts to non-technical stakeholdersSelf-driven and autonomous with a strong sense of ownershipPassion for geospatial innovation and continuous learningClient-oriented mindset with attention to quality and detail#J-18808-Ljbffr
