Job Summary And Scope The Technical Sales Support Specialist provides technical and commercial support to the sales network, distributors, installers and end customers, contributing to business development through solutions that meet customers’ technical and financial requirements.
This role works alongside the sales team in pre-sales activities, in drawing up quotations and in negotiations, highlighting the benefits of inverters and storage solutions and providing support with their selection, sizing and integration.
Activities And Area Of Responsabilities
- Provide pre-sales technical and commercial support to the sales network, distributors and customers, in coordination with the Sales and Service departments.
- Gather customer requirements during pre-sales meetings and analyses specifications, verifying feasibility and technical requirements.
- Design residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale photovoltaic systems with monitoring and storage systems.
- Define preliminary configurations for inverters, storage and monitoring, checking compatibility and integration constraints.
- Carry out technical and economic comparisons between solutions, highlighting performance, costs and benefits for the customer.
- Prepare technical data sheets, component lists and responses to specifications to support quotations and tenders.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals and tender documents in collaboration with the Sales team, supporting follow-up and negotiations.
- Conduct pre-sales presentations and demonstrations, illustrating the configurations, performance and benefits of the proposed solutions.
- Handle technical enquiries regarding proposals and suggest alternatives, guiding the customer through the decision-making process prior to placing an order.
- Deliver technical and commercial training for customers, distributors and the Sales team, highlighting the benefits of the products.
- Attend trade fairs, events and webinars, identifying technical and commercial opportunities.
- Collaborate with Product Management, R&D;, Service and Quality to resolve technical issues and tailor solutions to customer needs.
- Monitor regulations, technical standards, competitors and trends in the photovoltaic market.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of the photovoltaic industry and its main commercial and market dynamics is a must.
- Good understanding of solar modules, inverters, energy storage systems and related balance-of-system components.
- Ability to understand technical specifications, product performance, certifications, warranties and system requirements.
- Knowledge of commercial models and sales channels in the solar industry.
- Experience working with distributors, contractors, project developers, installers or utilities.
- Strong knowledge of pricing models, margins, commercial terms and contract negotiation.
- Ability to prepare and explain technical-commercial proposals.
- Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, CRM and forecast tools.
- Fluent English; knowledge of additional languages relevant to the assigned market is an advantage.
