Overview In this role you design and oversee the ground segment for space missions, aligning architecture with mission goals and programmatic constraints. You will collaborate across Mission Planning, Flight Dynamics, and Ground Stations to ensure robust, compliant G/S solutions. You drive MBSE approaches and CBSE-like traceability to meet ECSS standards while maintaining schedules.

This position offers international collaboration and a chance to shape EO ground systems for institutional and commercial customers.

Responsabilità

- Define ground segment design and programmatic framework
- Justify S/S architecture from concept to detailed design
- Control S/S technical interfaces internal and external
- Manage system technical budget and margins
- Lead technical activities for Mission Planning, Flight Dynamics, Satellite Control Center, Ground Stations, and User Ground Segment
- Oversee subsystems design down to component level
- Apply competence in communication networks, data transfer,



and cloud-based systems

Requisiti fondamentali
- Ten+ years in Ground Segment engineering for space systems (Phase C/D mandatory)
- Five+ years in definition and design of S/S for EO systems for institutional/commercial customers
- Strong experience in EO system design
- Experience defining and managing requirements with DOORS
- Proficiency with simulation tools for G/S performance (STK, Python, MATLAB)
- Ability to apply model-based methods (SysML, UML) to G/S design
- Solid knowledge of ground system engineering processes and life cycles
- Knowledge of ECSS standards
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Fluency in English; Italian desirable
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Problem solving and creative thinking
