The Expediter is responsible for monitoring purchase order progress and supplier performance to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment. Acting as the primary interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders, the role proactively identifies potential delays, coordinates mitigation actions, and maintains visibility over the status of critical orders throughout the procurement and manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor supplier progress against purchase order milestones to ensure materials are manufactured, inspected, released, and delivered according to project schedules.
- Perform supplier expediting activities through regular follow-up meetings, status collection, manufacturing progress verification, and proactive identification of delivery risks.
- Review suppliers' manufacturing and delivery schedules, anticipating potential bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, Quality,
and Logistics teams to align priorities and ensure effective cross-functional communication.
- Monitor supplier performance, providing regular updates and escalation reports to Supply Chain Management.
- Coordinate inspection activities and ensure the timely execution of quality control and release processes.
- Verify readiness for shipment and ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality requirements, and contractual obligations before shipment authorization.
- Maintain accurate reporting of supplier progress, critical issues, and delivery forecasts within ERP and project management systems.
- Support delay recovery plans and work closely with suppliers to mitigate schedule impacts.
- Coordinate and manage third-party inspectors, expediting agencies, and external consultants involved in supplier surveillance activities.
- Conduct regular supplier visits and on-site expediting activities to verify manufacturing progress, resolve issues directly, and support project delivery objectives.
- Ensure procurement project plans and delivery schedules remain updated and aligned with actual supplier performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier expediting, procurement,
manufacturing coordination, or supply chain operations within EPC, industrial plants, energy, oil & gas, power generation, or heavy industry environments.
- Proven experience following supplier manufacturing activities and critical equipment deliveries.
- Experience coordinating supplier inspections, quality release activities, and shipment readiness processes.
- Familiarity with project execution methodologies and supplier performance management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, and project-driven supply chains.
- Experience using ERP systems and project management tools.
- Professional proficiency in English and Italian.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Expediting, Welding Inspection, NDT, or Quality Management.
- Experience supporting large-scale EPC or energy infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of international logistics and supplier quality surveillance activities.

Pay range and compensation package Permanent, full-time contract. Competitive compensation package aligned with seniority (indicative base salary: €35,000 – €45,000 gross/year).
