Data Protection Expert

Within the Chief Compliance Officer function we are looking for a talented and proactive resource to join the team as Data Protection Expert .
The ideal candidate will support the team working on the following activities:
- Report to the Head of Data Protection (who in turn reports to the Chief Compliance Officer)
- Provide advisory support to the business in connection with data protection matters, including opinions on Data Protection Impact Assessments, for all asset management and non-regulated companies falling under the relevant perimeter
- Timely perform DPO monitoring and control activities for all asset management and non-regulated companies falling under the relevant perimeter and drafting the respective operational reports
- Draft the DPO Reports for all asset management and non-regulated companies falling under the relevant perimeter for the senior management and Board of Directors
- Liaise with the Data Protection Officers abroad in relation to data protection related matters regarding any of the asset management foreign entities
- Support global/local projects and initiatives identifying and providing solution for data protection related matters
- Provide support in preparing training initiatives on personal data protection topics
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- University level degree or comparable, preferably in law, political sciences or economics
- Excellent knowledge of English (C1 level)
- Successful track record of at least 4 years in prior legal or internal control functions with a specific focus on data protection matters, especially in complex environments, with a view of being able to discharge the assigned tasks with a high level of autonomy
- Adequate knowledge of the relevant European and Italian legal framework
- Adequate knowledge of internal control systems and processes commonly adopted in the asset management industry
- Problem-solving and analytical skillset
- Ability to drive topics and deliver results even under pressure and time constraints
- Availability to travel in Italy and abroad
- Team player

Within the Asset Management, the Data Protection team primarily ensures the regular and timely fulfillment of the core duties typically entrusted to the Data Protection Officer of GenAM SGR, GRE SGR, GRE S.p.A. and GIH S.p.A., in accordance with the relevant European and Italian personal data protection regulations.
The Data
Protection team also performs oversight and coordination over the Data Protection Officers of the European Generali asset management companies.Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Data Protection team guarantees the respect of policies and regulations on privacy topics.
