We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist / Environmental & Geospatial Data Consultant with extensive experience in environmental and agricultural data, geospatial analysis, Machine Learning, and large-scale datasets, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights for sustainability-focused projects.

?The project?
You will contribute to environmental data science, geospatial analysis, and sustainability activities within an international project supporting European institutions and agencies, working with large-scale datasets and advanced analytical methodologies.
Environmental & Agricultural Data: Analyse, manage, and model large environmental and agricultural datasets, supporting evidence-based assessment and sustainability initiatives at regional and international scale.
Data Science & Machine Learning: Develop and evaluate regression, predictive, classification, clustering, and Machine Learning models to extract insights from complex datasets.
Geospatial Analysis: Apply geospatial and geo-statistical methodologies to environmental datasets, using specialised tools for spatial analysis, mapping, and data visualisation.
Environmental Indicators & Accounting:
Support the development and evaluation of environmental indicators and contribute to natural capital accounting frameworks and platforms.
Data Storytelling & Communication: Translate complex analytical results into clear visualisations, reports, and data-driven narratives for technical stakeholders, decision-makers, and senior audiences.
Technical Documentation: Prepare analytical documentation covering methodologies, geospatial and geo-statistical assessments, data management processes, and analytical results.

Programming & Data Science: Python, Geo-Python, R, SQL, Jupyter Notebook, Machine Learning and predictive modelling.
GIS & Geospatial: ArcGIS, QGIS, geospatial analysis, geo-statistics, spatial modelling and advanced mapping.
Machine Learning & Analytics: Regression, predictive modelling, classification, clustering, Machine Learning, Big Data and large-scale data processing.
Environmental & Natural Capital: ARIES, INCA, SEEA-EA, natural capital accounting, environmental indicators and sustainability analytics.
Data Visualisation: Advanced data visualisation, cartography, mapping and data storytelling.
Data Management: Large environmental and agricultural datasets, complex databases, AI-supported data analysis and regional/international data management.
