As Backend Engineer, AI, you will ship robust backend features at Deel Speed, using AI tools to accelerate development while preserving quality. You will collaborate with product, frontend, design, and QA to translate requirements into scalable services across 150+ countries. Responsabilità
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and scope features
- Leverage AI coding tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate development while critically reviewing AI-generated code
- Build and ship AI products, workflows, and agents
- Contribute to the full Software Development Lifecycle from discovery to deployment
- Develop robust features, APIs, databases, and infrastructure with a focus on quality
- Own end-to-end feature delivery (design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, iterate)




- Maintain high-quality standards through rigorous testing and customer-focused development
- Communicate with non-technical stakeholders, explain constraints, and align teams
- Unblock teams by diagnosing issues quickly and proposing solutions
- Adhere to Deel's code review, testing, deployment, and security practices
- Take accountability for service excellence and optimize performance

Requisiti fondamentali
- 3+ years as Backend/Software Engineer
- Experience shipping AI-enabled products and handling production issues
- Proficiency in NodeJS or Python
- Strong code quality and knowledge of patterns and best practices
- SQL and NoSQL fundamentals, especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries (Sequelize, TypeORM)
- Experience shipping products using Claude with ability to prompt, review AI output, and choose when to write code manually
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong remote collaboration and async work experience
- Understanding of secure coding, data handling, and compliance
- Ability to own work from design to production and optimize when needed
- Awareness of cost optimization and resource utilization
