IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a Research Fellow to join the team led by Dr. Mirko Luoni at Stem Cell and Neurogenesis Unit in the Division of Neuroscience, for Innovative Gene Therapy for Rett Syndrome. Our lab has a strong interest in developing novel technologies in stem cells, genetic cell reprogramming and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing for better modeling and treating neurological disorders.
Main responsibilities:
Our FIS2 project aims to investigate the role of the Mecp2 protein, whose absence causes Rett syndrome, and to develop innovative gene therapy strategies both in vitro and in vivo. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with advanced genetic editing techniques, adeno-associated viral vectors (AAVs), and cutting-edge molecular biology methods to study protein-DNA interactions.
The candidate we are looking for has the following skills:
The ideal candidate should possess a Master or PhD degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or related fields, with a robust foundation in molecular biology and cell manipulation. Experience in gene editing and mouse model manipulation is considered a valuable asset. Proficiency in English,
exceptional organizational skills, and a collaborative team spirit are essential.
