This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to work with the Engineering Manager, North and wider leadership team with the continued provision of comprehensive support across a range of mechanical and electrical engineering projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the effective planning, control and management of projects secured from the tendering stage, through negotiation to contract completion.
- Draft quotations and undertake estimating for smaller engineering projects using Beck & Pollitzer standard commercial approach.
- Undertake any reporting as requested by the Engineering Manager with regard to performance of projects.
- Assist with method statements and risk assessments on site where requested.
- Ensure that all interactions with the client are conducted on a professional basis at all times.
- Monitor the activities on site and report back to the Project Manager/Engineering Manager any issues with performance, the client or any concerns about safety or security.
- Lead a small team/projects as and when required.
Experience,
knowledge and qualifications required
- Relevant degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical.
- Have previously worked in an engineering environment.
- Experience of using Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and industry recognised tools for tracking, analysis, business documents, presentations etc. CAD experience would be an advantage.
- Experience of applying health and safety legislation including risk management processes.
- A strong knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical contracting.

- Will be confident with presenting and explaining technical concepts simply and succinctly.

- Can persuade and influence people at all levels with a confident and assertive approach.
