About the Role
This lead role for Flexlink will be engaged in the assembly of parts or sub-assemblies into automation systems; installation, de-bug, runoff, training, project supervision and other support and service-related activities, as required.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing installation of and service on FlexLink production logistics solutions systems.
- Interfacing with FlexLink Service Manager/Project Engineer to ensure customer order deadlines and scope of work are met.
- Acting as site lead for team of Installation Technicians including contract personnel.
- Establishing and adjusting work procedures to meet customers’ expectations.
- Identifies process, efficiency, and cost improvements.
- Ensuring OSHA and customer site-specific safety requirements are followed.
- Working with customers’ quality, safety, management, and union representatives.
- Directs 3rd party resources, when necessary.
- Working within approved budgets, including budgeted hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
- General knowledge of electrical voltage, wiring and conduit.
- AC and DC voltage, 3 phase high and low AC voltage.
- 24VDC control voltage.
- Wireway installation for AC and DC voltage.
- Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix and RC Link.
- Ability to perform preventative or corrective maintenance on components and pneumatic devices.
- Basic mathematical ability.
- Additional experience with preventative or corrective maintenance on robotics systems plus.
- Ability to teach and train onsite resources.
- Multiple skill sets of knowledge (electrical, mechanical, pneumatics).
- Understanding of “full turnkey installation”.
- Ability to start and finish the installation while dealing with adversity.
- Experience of supervising a team of onsite contractors.
- Ability to overcome issues onsite and offsite the project.
- Understanding and able to read drawings and teach others.
- Overcome bad/poor drawings or no drawings in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate strong administrative discipline by consistently submitting online reports, expenses, and managing timesheets accurately and within required deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of software operations and can assist onsite software engineers.
- Effectively manage workforce resources, including strategic reductions in staffing if required, to ensure project delivery remained on schedule and within budget.
- Effective communicator, problem solver while motivating the onsite crew.
- Demonstrates flexibility and embraces change when needed.
- Ability to implement customer decisions and works through them in a professional manner.
- Minimum five (5) years related service/installation experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment/company, focused on electrical and mechanical trouble shooting with experience dealing directly with the customer.
