And you could be part of it.The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for managing yard operations in coordination with the site's Dock, Inbound, and Outbound teams to ensure first in, first out (FIFO) processing and mitigate risks of impact on the customer experience. The ideal candidate has experience in transportation operations and excellent project management skills. They have the ability to lead and mentor people, analyze data, and make relevant recommendations in an often ambiguous environment. One of the key responsibilities of this role is to standardize and improve processes while analyzing and eliminating root causes of defects in current systems. This position requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence change.The applicable collective agreement (CCNL) for this role is Logistica, Trasporto Merci e Spedizione.
The position is classified at Level 1 or above, depending on the candidate's skills, competences and experience.Key job responsibilitiesCollaborate with Site leadership to improve the punctuality of inbound and outbound trucks, as well as safety and customer experience metricsStreamline communication between the Site, the Network Operations Center, and carriers to optimize truck flow in the yard, ensuring on-time arrivals and departuresResponsible for reporting yard performance to local Site leadership, identifying root causes of structural issues, and driving resolution with multiple stakeholdersSupport all site safety and compliance programs to ensure a safe working environment for associates in the yardProactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tool implementationWork within various time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying completed activitiesAbility to develop standard procedures and share best practices with our global transportation operations teamsAbility to work some weekends and/or nights as needed (this team provides tactical support to Amazon's logistics network)A day in the lifeYou will ensure the safety of your team by promoting Amazon's health and safety standards.You will lead cross-functional teams dedicated to solving operational problems.You will uphold Amazon's high standards for process quality.You will ensure the accuracy of information and adherence to operational standards.You will focus on improving and streamlining processes.You will become fully knowledgeable about the fulfillment center's key processes and activities.You will actively participate in sharing and promoting best practices with your colleagues and across the network.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degreeExperience managing teamsExperience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders,
