/ppThe key requirement is strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs and TIA Portal, with Omron experience considered an advantage.
/ppThis is a production support and troubleshooting-focused assignment, rather than a greenfield programming project.
You will be responsible for investigating live automation issues, analysing PLC logic, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and production performance.

/ph3What You'll Be Doing /h3ulliTroubleshoot Siemens PLC-controlled production equipment /liliUse TIA Portal for online diagnostics and fault finding /liliAnalyse existing PLC logic, sequences and interlocks /liliInvestigate recurring equipment faults, stoppages and downtime /liliDiagnose issues across PLC software, electrical systems, sensors, drives, instrumentation and communications /liliTroubleshoot automated machinery and production lines /liliIdentify bottlenecks, intermittent faults and reliability issues /liliPerform detailed root?cause analysis /liliRecommend corrective actions and technical improvements /liliCreate clear action plans outlining issues, priorities and recommended solutions /liliSupport the implementation and testing of corrective actions /liliWork closely with production, maintenance and engineering teams /liliDocument technical findings and any software changes /li /ulh3Technical Experience /h3pWe are particularly interested in engineers with hands?on experience in: /pulliS****** / S****** /liliPLC diagnostics and online troubleshooting /liliLadder Logic,
FBD and/or Structured Text / SCL /liliIndustrial Ethernet / Profinet /liliDrives and motor control /liliSensors, actuators and field devices /liliAutomated machinery and production lines /liliElectrical fault finding /liliMachine sequencing and interlocks /liliCommissioning and start?up /liliProduction troubleshooting /liliRoot?cause analysis /li /ulpExperience with Omron PLCs, including Sysmac Studio or CX-Programmer, would be beneficial but is not essential.
/ppExperience with other platforms such as Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff or Mitsubishi is also advantageous.
/ph3About You /h3pWe are particularly interested in mid-level / medior Automation Engineers with a strong practical background.
/ppYou should ideally have: /pulli2+ years' hands?on PLC / Automation experience /liliStrong experience with Siemens TIA Portal /liliExperience troubleshooting automated production equipment /liliThe ability to go online with Siemens PLCs and diagnose live faults /liliConfidence reading and understanding existing PLC code /liliStrong fault?finding and root?cause analysis skills /liliGood understanding of electrical drawings and automation hardware /liliExperience working in live manufacturing or production environments /liliThe ability to distinguish between software, electrical, instrumentation and mechanical faults /liliExperience working alongside maintenance and production teams /liliStrong communication and problem?solving skills /liliA practical, hands?on approach /liliFlexibility to work a three?shift rotation /liliAvailability to work fully onsite in Italy for 3–6 months /li /ulpThis opportunity would suit an engineer with several years of Siemens automation experience who enjoys troubleshooting, fault finding and improving real?world production systems.
