/p h3Questa Posizione Risponde a /h3 pRD Team Lead /p p__ /p h3Your role and responsibilities /h3 pIn this role, you will join the Product Care team within ABB Smart Buildings, contributing to the continuous improvement and evolution of our People Protection product portfolio.
You will work across the product development cycle, from concept generation and 3D design to engineering analysis, prototyping, testing, and industrialization support.
You will collaborate with experienced engineers and manufacturing teams, applying modern engineering tools, digital technologies, and Artificial Intelligence solutions to solve technical challenges and improve product development processes.
/p pThe work model for the role is: Hybrid /p pThis role is contributing to the People Protection product portfolio within ABB Smart Buildings in Vittuone (Milan), Italy.
Main stakeholders are RD, Product Care, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, laboratories, and suppliers.
/p h3You Will Be Mainly Accountable For /h3 ul liSupporting Product Care activities for existing products, ensuring technical robustness, quality, competitiveness, and continuous improvement.
/li liDeveloping and modifying 3D CAD models and technical documentation, as well as performing engineering studies and simulations to evaluate product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
/li liDesigning, building, and validating prototypes in collaboration with laboratories, suppliers, and manufacturing teams,
while supporting root cause analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
/li liExploring and applying new technologies, materials, digital engineering methods, and AI-based approaches to improve design efficiency, problem solving, and product development processes.
/li /ul h3Qualifications For The Role /h3 ul liMaster's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent Engineering qualification.
/li liGood knowledge of 3D CAD design, with experience in CATIA V5 and/or Creo highly appreciated.
/li liBasic knowledge of engineering simulations, such as structural, thermal, or multiphysics analysis, with experience in prototype development, testing, or product validation considered an advantage.
/li liInterest in Digital Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and data-driven product development; knowledge of MATLAB is a plus.
/li liKnowledge of SAP and PLM/PDM systems, together with good command of Microsoft Office tools.
/li liYou are passionate about hands-on engineering, problem solving, and continuous improvement, with a curious, proactive mindset and willingness to learn in a dynamic international environment.
/li liYou are at ease communicating in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
