What will your role be?
We are looking for a Embedded Software Engineer to perform the following activities:
- Develop and maintain real-time embedded software in C++ for VxWorks or similar RTOS environments.
- Design and implement safety-critical software functions in compliance with IEC 61508, targeting SIL-2 or higher safety levels.
- Perform hardware/software integration, debugging and performance optimization, including peripheral management and resource optimization.
- Develop and execute unit and functional tests for embedded systems, ensuring compliance with real-time, response-time and determinism requirements.
- Contribute to Agile and DevOps activities, including version control, CI/CD pipelines and Python-based tools for prototyping and infrastructure management.
Qualifiche
What are we looking for in you? Experience and competencies
- At least 2 years of experience in developing embedded systems on real-time platforms, involving ROTSs (VxWorks or similar).
- Knowledge of IEC 61508 Standard for developing Software functions/applications at least SIL-2 or greater.
- Proven expertise in the development and maintenance of software for embedded systems with real-time requirements.
- Ability to work closely with hardware on activities such as debugging, performance optimization, and peripheral management.
- General knowledge of the VxWorks (or similar) real-time operating system.
- Experience with task management, semaphores, mutexes, and synchronization mechanisms (preferably VxWorks-specific).
- Excellent proficiency in C++, with particular attention to resource optimization.
- Knowledge of Python 3 for prototyping and infrastructure management.
- Competence in response-time analysis and determinism to meet real-time requirements.
- Experience in writing and executing unit and functional tests, particularly in embedded environments.
- Proficient use of version control systems.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices for embedded environments, and continuous integration (CI/CD).
