About the Role
EDGE Group is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function of one of its entities in Italy. The role will provide strategic and operational financial leadership within a complex industrial and technology environment, supporting business growth, manufacturing operations, R&D; investment and international expansion.
The CFO will partner closely with the CEO, leadership team, Board and EDGE Group Finance to drive financial performance, governance and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall financial strategy and finance function, ensuring alignment with business objectives and EDGE Group requirements.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on business strategy, investment decisions, growth initiatives and long-term financial planning.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and performance management, providing clear financial insight to support business decisions.
- Drive profitability, cash flow, working capital and cost optimisation across manufacturing, engineering and operational activities.
- Provide financial oversight of major programmes, customer contracts, capital investments, R&D; activities and production expansion.
- Support manufacturing capacity expansion and international market growth through robust financial planning and investment analysis.
- Oversee accounting, taxation, treasury, audit, internal controls and statutory compliance in accordance with Italian regulations and Group requirements.
- Establish and strengthen financial controls, processes and reporting in line with EDGE Group standards.
- Manage and coordinate Board-related matters, including preparation of financial updates, Board reporting, meeting materials, governance requirements and ongoing engagement with Board members.
- Partner with engineering, operations, commercial and programme teams to assess business performance, programme economics and investment opportunities.
- Work closely with EDGE Group Finance and senior stakeholders on financial governance, reporting, strategic initiatives and integration activities.
- Lead, develop and strengthen the finance team, ensuring the organisation has the capabilities required to support its growth.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline; professional accounting qualification is preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant experience in a CFO, Finance Director or equivalent senior leadership role.
- Proven experience within industrial manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, defence, marine, propulsion or advanced technology environments.
- Strong experience in financial planning, commercial finance, manufacturing economics, working capital and investment management.
- Experience supporting R&D-intensive; businesses, manufacturing operations and large-scale engineering or technology programmes.
- Experience supporting business transformation, international expansion, M&A; or integration within a complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of Italian accounting, taxation, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with Boards, Board members, shareholders, CEOs and senior executive stakeholders.
- Experience working within an international or multinational group environment is preferred.
