Offer Description
The postdoctoral research position aims to develop
and validate approaches for the early detection of
pathogens responsible for postharvest alterations
and decay in fruit and vegetable products intended
for fresh consumption. Activities will include the
selection of commodities and pathogens of plant
pathology interest,



the setup of inoculation and
monitoring assays under controlled conditions, the
evaluation of early stages of infection and
deterioration, and the collection of biological data
useful for distinguishing healthy, infected or
altered products at an early stage. Relationships
between pathogen development, symptom
appearance, decay processes and signals detectable
through innovative non-invasive monitoring
systems will also be analysed.
