The company is an academic spinoff accredited by the University of Bari, Italy and an emerging industry player in Europe. /p pstrongPosition Summary /strong /ppAn Atomic Physicist who will be part of our technology team. The candidate will play a critical role in the rapid prototyping of customized laser-written vapor cells (LWVCs) and atomic-photonic chips. The candidate will work closely with a team including a Prototyping Manager and an RD Scientist. /p pstrongDuties and responsibilities /strong /pulliModel and simulate atomic physics problems for quantum sensing and metrology applications /liliDesign and operate a vacuum/pressure system for filling and sealing of all-glass vapor cells /liliPerform hands-on fabrication and integration of all-glass atomic photonic-chips /liliGuide the prototyping team with the design of custom-designed vapor cells and atomic-photonic chips /liliInteract with early customers and researchers to solve atomic physics problems collaboratively /liliDevelop component and system-level absorption spectroscopy and magneto-optical testing setups /liliWork with the prototyping team to transition/scale testing for performance evaluation /liliContribute to the expansion of our IP portfolio through patent filing /liliContribute to the writing of scientific publications using QSENSATO’s innovative technology /liliContribute to the writing of regional, national, European and international grants /li /ul pstrongWork experience requirements /strong /pulliDemonstrated theoretical and experimental expertise in atomic physics and photonics is required /liliSimulation of atomic physics problems for quantum sensing and metrology applications /liliHands-on test and data analysis experience in both atomic and optical physics domains. /liliExperience with miniaturized vapor cells and atomic quantum sensors will be an asset. /li /ul pThe individual must be highly self-motivated and must thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. /p pstrongEducation requirements /strong /pulliA Ph.D. or postdoc in experimental atomic physics is required. /liliEnglish (full professional proficiency). Italian and other languages will be an asset. /li /ul pstrongTechnical competences /strong /pulliExperience with simulating the physics of hot atomic ensembles with high-level research tools /liliDemonstrated experimental expertise in filling vapor cells with atomic compounds and other gas mixture and/or with microfabrication techniques /liliExperience in testing miniaturized vapor cells and/or magneto-optical setups /liliCompetency with simulation, design, data analysis softwares (Mathematica, Matlab, Labview, COMSOL, Inventor, or similar)
