Role Overview
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial information, supporting strategic financial decision-making and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
This role is responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, leading reconciliations, and supporting internal and external audits.
The Senior Accountant also acts as a key point of contact for cross-functional teams on financial matters and contributes to continuous process improvement within the finance function.
Key accountabilities
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Review and approve journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
Oversee fixed asset accounting, including asset creation, depreciation, and reconciliation
Manage balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies proactively
Support the preparation of management and statutory financial reports
Collaborate with external auditors, providing documentation and responding to audit queries
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies
Support tax-related reporting, including indirect tax reconciliations and documentation




Assist with budget monitoring and variance analysis in collaboration with finance leadership
Contribute to system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial control
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Preferred qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) or working towards one
Experience
5+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles
Strong understanding of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or equivalent)
Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements
Proficient with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritise tasks, and handle complexity
Experience supporting or leading audits is desirable
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Language Proficiency:
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C1+)
For Italy based roles: fluent in Italian (CEFR C1+), French is a plus

The final salary will be determined on the basis of the selected candidate's qualifications and professional experience.
