Structural Analysis Engineer | Space
My client is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer with experience in the space or aerospace sector to support the development, qualification and delivery of radar payload structures. This role will focus on finite element analysis, structural performance and environmental qualification within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret finite element analyses of radar payload structures, including static, dynamic, buckling and fatigue analysis, where applicable.
- Use analysis results to support design decisions and qualification activities.
- Support environmental qualification campaigns, including vibration and shock testing, through test specification development and post-test correlation.
- Develop, validate and correlate finite element models against test results.
- Collaborate with integration, electronics,
thermal and systems engineering teams to ensure structural requirements are addressed from the early design stages.
- Communicate technical findings through clear presentations, engineering reports and qualification documentation.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of structural mechanics and finite element methods.
- Proven experience in structural analysis and the use of FEA tools such as Femap with Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus or equivalent.
- Experience developing, validating and correlating FEM models with test results.
- Previous experience supporting vibration and environmental test campaigns.
- Good knowledge of metallic structures, with a basic understanding of composite materials.
- Experience in the space sector or aerospace programmes
- Good written and spoken English.
