We are looking for a Communication Assistant to join the EFSA Digital eXperience & Discovery team (Communication Unit) to support the Scientific Output Publication process.

Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of English (at least C1 level);
- At least 1 year of relevant working experience in communication departments within international organisations;
- Experience in and knowledge of communication principles, internal communication, editorial standards;
- Experience with scientific publishing and AI would be an asset;
- Proficiency in IT tools (e.g. MS Office software). Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro, ScholarOne, Copyright Clearance Center will be considered an asset;
- Behavioural competencies: working with others, analysis and problem solving, attention to detail, time management, priority setting and planning, customer focus, resilience and composure.
Assignment: initial contract of 3/4 months,
with possibility of extension. Expected duration of assignment: 12 months.
Salary: approx. € 2326,00 per month before taxes.
Work modalities: office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possible within 2 hours from EFSA's premises in Parma, Italy, for the remaining days.

The interim will:
- Support the daily publishing workflow of scientific publications, ensuring the seamless execution of the scientific publishing process and liaising between authors and the publisher;
- Contribute to small-scale projects, which may include coordination and negotiation with several internal and external stakeholders;
- Support the organisation of meetings of the Editorial Advisory Board, drafting agendas, taking minutes and following up on action points;
- Provide administrative support, such as handling invoices, monitoring budgets, and maintaining accurate records;
- Monitor communication channels to ensure clear, timely, and effective information exchange.
