Overview

In this role you will support global sourcing for electronic components within ABB’s Smart Power division. You will collaborate with R&D; and agile teams to shape sourcing strategies and mitigate supply risks across the product lifecycle. You will lead RFQ/RFP activities, perform cost benchmarking and TCO analyses, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms. You will build long-term supplier relationships, monitor market dynamics and supplier performance, and drive cost savings and sustainability in procurement. This is an opportunity to influence global sourcing at scale while aligning with ABB policies and the company’s sustainability ambitions.

Responsabilità

- Define and implement global sourcing strategies for Active, Passive, and Power Electronic Components
- Collaborate with Agile Teams and R&D; to select components and mitigate supply risks
- Lead RFQ/RFP processes, perform cost benchmarking and TCO analyses, negotiate with suppliers
- Develop and maintain long-term agreements and strategic supplier relationships; support onboarding and performance management
- Monitor market trends, lifecycles, and supplier performance; manage risk and supply continuity




- Drive cost savings through competitive sourcing, volume consolidation, design-to-cost and VE programs
- Support digital supply chain visibility with analytics and regular category performance updates
- Ensure compliance with ABB procurement policies, trade compliance, and supplier sustainability standards

Requisiti fondamentali

- 5-10+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, or related roles in EMS manufacturing, semiconductors or similar industries
- Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCBA sourcing, market dynamics and semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Proven collaboration, stakeholder management, negotiation and results delivery in global environments
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or related field
- English proficiency; additional languages (Italian, French, Chinese, German) are a plus
- Ability to travel internationally up to 20-30%
- Professional Certifications such as CPSM, CIPS or equivalent are a plus
