ppHitachi Energy is looking for a bGlobal Supplier Development Engineer focused on the critical to quality categories such as gaskets, different insulation materials and chemicals /b. This position can be based anywhere in Europe where Hitachi Energy operates. /p pIn this role, you will ensure our suppliers deliver high-quality materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness. You will implement proactive quality assurance processes to enhance the quality and delivery performance of our supply base. Aligning with our Category Strategy, you will lead supplier assessments, manage development initiatives, oversee parts approvals, and drive continuous improvement, ultimately elevating our supplier partnerships and contributing to our operational excellence. /p h3How You'll Make An Impact /h3 ul liLead the supplier qualification process by conducting SAP Ariba assessments and executing global on-site audits to ensure supplier compliance and capability. /li liImplement improvement actions at suppliers based on audit findings and identified process improvements, fostering enhanced collaboration and quality outcomes. /li liOversee the global parts approval process to ensure supplier materials and components meet technical and operational requirements for various critical to quality materials in Transformers Business unit /li liMonitor supplier performance indicators and drive the annual Supplier Performance Evaluation process to identify and address low-performing suppliers. /li liDevelop and implement action plans for supplier performance recovery,
working closely with suppliers to ensure the effectiveness of corrective measures. /li liResolve escalated non-conformities with suppliers by leading root cause analysis and ensuring proper implementation of corrective actions. /li liDrive continuous improvement in supplier management processes at a global level, reflecting lessons learned and promoting best practices across the business unit. /li liLead key SCM tool/system improvement projects within Supplier Quality and Development domain /li liAct as project lead for single/sole source elimination in critical global categories. /li /ul h3Your background /h3 ul liDegree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, Materials, Mechanical, Polymer science or similar). /li liMinimum of 10 years of experience in supplier development and supplier quality management /li liStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions /li liIn-depth knowledge of chemicals, gaskets and/or insulation material production processes, specifications, and quality standards in transformer industry (or similar) /li liSolid experience with production process assessment.
/li liDeep knowledge of Quality and Continuous Improvement tools (Kaizen, DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5Why Analysis). /li liExpertise in APQP/PPAP, P-FMEA, Process Control Plan, SPC, and inspection processes. /li liAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a structured, proactive, and result-oriented approach. /li liExcellent communication skills for effective interaction in an international environment /li liProven experience with process improvement and standardization across regions /li liWillingness to travel internationally for supplier audits and assessments frequently. /li /ul pHitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital at the core.
