About the Role The Business Development (BD) Senior Specialist is an integral part of Latham's Business Development team.
This role will be responsible for working in close collaboration with key market leaders and colleagues across the BD department to support the firm's business priorities in Italy to achieve its strategic marketing and business development goals, while developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of industry, practice, market expertise, client mix, matter experience, trade groups, and media.
This role will be located in our Milan office.
Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications Other key responsibilities include:Employing knowledge to develop and execute strategic business development and marketing plans, acting as a "dot connector" internallyProviding research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationshipsSupporting the implementation of the marketing strategy for the market, with a focus on measurable impactAchieving fluency in our client base and supporting efforts to identify, pursue,
and attain new business from new and existing clientsCollaborating and supporting on the development of local pitches, proposals, biographies, and directoriesWorking closely with BD colleagues in the firm's client programs and events team in Europe, while also liaising with PR and social media colleagues, to support client events and identify and leverage industry sponsorshipsPartnering with appropriate Brand & Communications colleagues to ensure coverage and publicity for successful matters, initiatives and products, while working collaboratively across teams on strategic projectsWe'd love to hear from you if you:Display excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm (partners, attorneys, business services)Demonstrate initiative to work both independently and in a team environment with a customer service focusPossess the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and adapt to continuously evolving technology platformsAnd have:Experience in a business development environment within the professional services sector,
