We are partnering with a
leading global pharmaceutical company
with a strong international presence and an expanding Specialty Care business to identify an experienced
Marketing Manager – Ophthalmology
for a key European assignment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior pharma marketer to take ownership of the
European marketing strategy for an ophthalmology portfolio
, working across multiple markets and playing a central role in the preparation and execution of a major product launch.
The role combines
strategic marketing, brand management, cross-functional leadership and hands-on launch execution
, with the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and local European teams.
The opportunity
As
Marketing Manager – Ophthalmology
, you will lead the European marketing agenda for the ophthalmology portfolio and coordinate a team of Product Managers across the EU.
You will be responsible for translating the European strategy into effective local market plans, while ensuring strong alignment across commercial, medical, regulatory and other key functions.
What you will do
Lead the development and execution of the
EU marketing and brand strategy
for the ophthalmology portfolio.
Coordinate and support a team of European Product Managers, ensuring alignment between local market activities and the broader EU strategy.
Take a leading role in the
preparation and execution of a major product launch
, from strategic planning through to commercial implementation.
Work closely with Medical, Regulatory, Sales and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective launch readiness.




Adapt European brand strategies to local market requirements while maintaining a consistent overall strategic direction.
Oversee the development of promotional campaigns and materials across digital and traditional channels.
Lead the planning and execution of key
European congresses, symposia and product meetings
.
Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and relevant external experts, including KOLs.
Monitor market dynamics, customer needs and competitor activity and translate insights into actionable marketing strategies.
Contribute to the continued growth and development of the company's ophthalmology business across Europe.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a
hands-on, commercially minded pharma marketer
who combines strategic thinking with strong execution skills.
You will ideally bring:
5+ years of marketing experience within the pharmaceutical industry
.
Solid experience in
brand management and product launch preparation/execution
.
Experience working across
multiple European markets
.
Previous experience managing or coordinating teams is highly desirable.
Experience in
ophthalmology is a plus, but not essential
.
Good understanding of the European pharmaceutical and healthcare environment.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Fluent English
is essential.
Spanish fluency is a strong advantage
.
Location & working model
Remote-based within Italy
with the flexibility to work from your home location.
The role has a European scope and may involve occasional travel for key meetings, congresses and stakeholder engagements.
Engagement
