OverviewIn this role you will shape ABB's enterprise-wide application architecture, ensuring coherent evolution of the application landscape while preserving unit autonomy. You'll set guardrails, target states, and decision frameworks to drive modularity, lifecycle management, interoperability, and alignment with business capabilities. You will lead architecture governance without direct delivery ownership, partnering with IT and business units to balance consistency and local needs. This position offers an impact-driven path to modernize and rationalize ABB's portfolio within a hybrid/multi-cloud environment.ResponsabilitàDirect the development of enterprise domain architecture and processes to embed change across the organization.Establish guardrails for application modularity, buy vs build, SaaS vs custom development, and lifecycle management.Develop and maintain ABB-wide architecture best practices, standards, and guidelines across responsibilities.Assess the existing IT landscape and define future state architecture, ensuring compatibility with solutions, infrastructure,
and strategy; oversee design reviews and cross-domain decisions.Guide enterprise application portfolio management with business and IT representatives, defining criteria for investment, modernization, replacement, decommissioning and consolidation.Monitor and report architecture landscape compliance and flag cross-ABB planning and road-mapping implications.Requisiti fondamentali10+ years in application or enterprise architecture roles in large, decentralized, or federated organizationsProven track record in application modernization and portfolio rationalizationExperience influencing architecture without direct delivery ownershipExpertise in architecture patterns (monolith, microservices, modular monoliths), SaaS and COTS integration, domain-led design, and hybrid/multi-cloud environmentsStrong architectural judgement and pragmatic decision-makingAbility to balance enterprise consistency with local setupExecutive-level communication and storytellingComfortable facilitating trade-offs across cost, speed, and riskExecutive-level communicationStorytellingStrategic thinkingMonolith, microservices, modular monolith patternsSaaS and COTS integrationDomain-led design and capability mapping
