Junior Marketing & Sales Specialist

27 set - Milano
AlpineStandards

AlpineStandards makes technical apparel for alpinism and ski mountaineering. Designed in the Italian Alps. Ayas for the mountains, Milan for the desks.

We are a Benefit Corporation, members of 1% for the Planet, currently going through B Corp certification. We are also a handful of people and a very long to-do list.

We're hiring a junior for marketing and sales. You'll report directly to the CEO, which in a company this size mostly means sitting next to him.

One non-negotiable

You practise mountain sports. Alpinism, climbing, ski mountaineering, skiing. Regularly, and by your own choice.

This is not a lifestyle detail and it is not a nice-to-have. We test our products in the field. We talk to people who will use them in conditions where the product matters. You cannot sell this, or write about it, from a desk.

If you climbed indoors twice in 2024, this is not the job.

Everything else below is negotiable. This is not.

The role

Roughly 70% marketing and DTC, 30% support to our commercial network.

These will become yours. You will not be thrown at them on day one: we will walk you through the platforms and the processes, and you will be supported while you learn them. But you will be expected to learn fast and to take them over.

- E-commerce and Shopify catalogue: product pages, publishing, seasonal updates
- Newsletter and CRM, from planning to numbers
- Organising content production, including shoots and days in the mountains
- Hands-on presence at our community events

These you will run together with us, from the start:

- The day to day relationship with our agency partner on social, communication and performance marketing
- Execution of our B2B strategy with agents and retailers: sales materials, sales meetings,

trade shows
- The relationship with our ambassadors and our collaborations with other brands

And then there is room for your own ideas on lead generation and customer satisfaction. That is the part that will shape how you grow here.

How we work

We work like a rope team. Nobody gets left behind. You get belayed when you need it, and you will need it, especially in the first months.

The other half is less comfortable. On a rope team nobody is a passenger. You check your own gear, you read the conditions, you carry your share. If you wait to be told, the rope goes slack and everyone notices.

We are a startup. The company changes shape every few months and the job changes with it. Decisions get made with less information than anyone would like. We prefer to move, be wrong, and correct, over waiting to be certain.

This is a good job. It is not a comfortable one.

Who we are looking for

- A degree or equivalent training in marketing, communication or business. Some exposure to marketing, e-commerce or sales is a plus, whether that came from an internship or a first job, but we are open to people starting out
- The ability to pick up new tools and platforms quickly, with guidance at the start and on your own after that
- Fluent English, written and spoken. Italian is required for the day to day

- Good command of Google Workspace and Office
- Confident use of generative AI in your daily work.

We are not looking for experts, we are looking for a real starting point to build on. We work a lot with Anthropic's Claude

- Willingness to travel for trade shows, sales meetings, shoots and events
- French or other languages are a plus

Growth The company is growing faster than the people in it, which is the normal condition of a startup and also the interesting part.

This is an apprenticeship contract with a structured three-year path. After the first year we choose a direction together: commercial, or brand and digital. The two routes come with different compensation structures. We will put the numbers on the table at the interview, not after.

What we offer

- Apprenticeship contract (apprendistato professionalizzante), full-time, gross annual salary around 25.000€
- Hybrid, mostly from our Milan office, days to be agreed together
- Meal vouchers
- Annual climbing gym membership
- Full AlpineStandards clothing kit
- Pro deals on technical gear through our partner brands
- Dedicated product testing days in the mountains
- Reimbursement for relevant technical and professional courses
- Daily contact with the CEO and the founders, which is a vantaggi right up until it isn't

How to apply

Applications go through our careers page: [link Homerun]. There are a few questions there. One of them asks about your last day out in the mountains. We read that one first.

https://alpinestandards.homerun.co/junior-brand-sales-assistant La ricerca è rivolta a candidati di tutti i generi, ai sensi del D.Lgs. 198/2006 e dei D.Lgs. 215/2003 e 216/2003.
