Digital Risk & Brand Protection Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a Digital Risk & Brand Protection Manager responsible for protecting the company’s brand, executives, products, campaigns, and digital assets across online channels.

This role focuses on operational digital risk monitoring, brand protection, and cross-functional coordination, working closely with IT Security, Marketing, Global Legal, Communications, Paid Media, and external Digital Risk Protection vendors.

The position will manage and optimize Digital Risk Protection platforms, such as ZeroFox or similar solutions, coordinate online threat monitoring, support takedown and escalation processes, and help mitigate risks including impersonation, phishing, counterfeit activity, unauthorized brand usage, trademark exposure, harmful digital placements, and reputational threats. This is a cross-functional role with a strong execution focus. The role supports Legal, Marketing, IT, and Communications teams, while formal legal clearance, cybersecurity incident ownership, media strategy, and crisis communications remain with the relevant functional owners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Risk Monitoring & Threat Detection

- Manage and optimize Digital Risk Protection platforms, including ZeroFox or similar tools.
- Monitor and assess digital risks across online channels, including:
- Executive and employee impersonation.
- Fake domains, phishing campaigns, and fraudulent websites.
- Email impersonation and fraudulent messages appearing to come from company employees, executives, or brand representatives.
- Social media impersonator accounts and account takeover risks.
- Lookalike websites and fake pre-order pages.
- Data exposure risks and unauthorized digital use of brand assets.
- Coordinate incident triage and escalation with IT Security where cyber, infrastructure, or data-related risks are identified.
- Maintain documentation of incidents, remediation actions, recurring threats, and escalation outcomes.

1. Brand Protection & Online Enforcement

- Monitor unauthorized use of brand intellectual property across marketplaces, social platforms, search engines, websites, digital ads, and social commerce channels.
- Identify counterfeit activity, fake product listings, unauthorized resale patterns, misleading product claims, and misuse of brand imagery, logos, trademarks, or product names.
- Coordinate takedown processes with online platforms, marketplaces, domain registrars, social networks, and external vendors.
- Monitor fake product listings and unauthorized brand activity on platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Alibaba, and social commerce marketplaces.
- Help enforce brand standards externally by feeding recurring violation data back into internal brand guideline updates.
- Partner with Marketing to protect brand reputation, visual identity, campaign integrity, and digital presence.

1. Campaign, Product Launch & Creative Risk Support

- Support Marketing and Creative teams by flagging potential digital brand protection, trademark, rights usage, and reputational risks in new campaign concepts, creative assets, and copy before go-live.
- Identify potential issues such as:
- Campaign taglines, names, or visual elements that may conflict with existing trademarks.




- Use of third-party logos, music, imagery, UGC, influencer content, or creative assets that may require rights clearance.
- Potential digital compliance or reputational concerns.
- Escalate relevant risks to Global Legal for formal legal clearance where required.
- Monitor for pre-launch leaks, unauthorized product mentions, fake launch pages, and counterfeit activity around product launches.
- Monitor post-launch risks including fake listings, lookalike websites, phishing or fake pre-order pages, social media impersonation, and unauthorized influencers or affiliates making false or misleading product claims.

1. Social Media, Influencer & Handle Protection

- Alert Marketing and Social Media teams to impersonator accounts, suspicious profiles, fake communities, and unauthorized brand usage.
- Support global handle and username protection across relevant platforms.
- Monitor social media impersonation and brand abuse through ZeroFox or similar platforms.
- Support influencer vetting by identifying potential red flags such as fake followers, bot engagement, suspicious audience quality, or reputational risk, where not already covered by existing social media tools.
- Flag unauthorized influencers, affiliates, or content creators making misleading claims or using brand assets without permission.

1. SEO, SEM & Digital Advertising Risk

- Identify competitors, bad actors, or unauthorized parties bidding on branded keywords.
- Monitor misleading ads, lookalike landing pages, and search activity that may divert consumers from official brand channels.
- Inform Paid Media and Marketing teams of risks that may affect search visibility, traffic quality, or brand protection strategy.
- Monitor whether digital advertising appears alongside harmful, unsafe, or reputationally damaging content.
- Escalate brand safety concerns to Marketing, Media, Legal, or agency partners as appropriate.

1. Legal, Communications & Crisis Coordination

- Collaborate with the Global Legal team to define escalation criteria, align on brand protection priorities, support the implementation of digital policies, and maintain visibility of recurring risks across markets and channels.
- Serve as a key liaison with Legal on rights clearance processes, usage-related claims, payout requests, and disputes involving unauthorized use of user-generated content or third-party assets.
- Partner with Communications, Marketing, Legal, IT, and leadership on crisis monitoring and response planning related to negative sentiment, public-facing brand concerns, impersonation, phishing, or reputational risks.
- Support crisis monitoring during high-risk events, campaign launches, product launches, or periods of heightened brand exposure.

1. Reporting, Governance & Process Improvement

- Act as a liaison between IT, Marketing, Legal, Communications,



Paid Media, external vendors, and regional teams.
- Translate technical and digital risk findings into business impact.
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on the digital threat landscape, recurring risks, response times, and remediation progress.
- Define and track KPIs related to digital risk reduction, takedown effectiveness, impersonation mitigation, phishing trends, and brand protection outcomes.
- Support IT and Legal in defining policies related to digital risk, online exposure, impersonation, brand misuse, and platform escalation.
- Contribute to awareness initiatives regarding phishing, impersonation, social engineering, unauthorized asset use, and online fraud.
- Support the development of internal workflows for campaign review, product launch monitoring, takedown escalation, rights clearance, and crisis response.

Required Experience

- 5–8 years of experience in Digital Risk, Cybersecurity Operations, Brand Protection, Trust & Safety, Online Enforcement, or a related field.
- Experience managing Digital Risk Protection platforms such as ZeroFox or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of phishing, impersonation, social engineering, online fraud, counterfeit activity, and unauthorized brand usage.
- Experience coordinating takedown processes across digital platforms, marketplaces, social networks, search engines, or domain registrars.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Marketing, Legal, Communications, Paid Media, regional teams, and external vendors.
- Strong communication, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate technical or platform-level findings into business, legal, reputational, or marketing implications.

Preferred Background

- Experience in retail, fashion, eyewear, luxury, consumer brands, or digitally driven consumer businesses.
- Exposure to marketplace ecosystems, social commerce, influencer marketing, paid media, and brand safety environments.
- Familiarity with trademark risk, rights clearance, UGC usage, brand guidelines, online content enforcement, and reputational risk.
- Basic knowledge of GDPR, NIS2, data privacy, and digital compliance regulations.
- Experience supporting campaign launches, product launches, crisis monitoring, or executive protection.
- Certifications such as Security , CISM, or equivalent are a plus, but not mandatory.
