Overview

As an Electrical Engineer in Hitachi Rail’s Rolling Stock Engineering team, you will contribute to electrical system design, integration, and verification for rail vehicles. You work across supplier reviews, simulations, and testing to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant solutions. The role offers exposure to international projects and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will help shape electrical architecture within a fast-paced, global environment.

Responsabilità

- Prepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS) for electrical components
- Analyze and assess supplier technical documentation
- Create and verify electrical installation/integration drawings and specifications
- Run simulations to optimize electrical systems performance and energy efficiency
- Lead design reviews with internal teams and suppliers
- Attend system stand-alone type tests and review test reports
- Support manufacturing, testing and validation activities
- Prepare electrical schematics and BoM in collaboration with mechanical teams
- Ensure compliance with railway regulations and project constraints
- Prepare documentation for vehicle approval and homologation

Requisiti fondamentali

- 3–5 years experience in the Railway sector or complex industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of railway regulations and standards
- Proficiency with IBM DOORS requirements management tool
- Knowledge of traction systems and power converters
- RAMS principles and processes
- Electrical CAD tools (E3 preferred)
- Electrical schematics design and components knowledge (relays, breakers, cables, connectors)
- Electrical machine design principles
- Electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., Ansys Maxwell, Motor-CAD)
- Thermal and electromagnetic analysis
- Office automation software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced international environment
- Strong planning, organization, teamwork and problem-solving
- Stakeholder liaison with internal and external partners
- Willingness for occasional national/international travel
