As Principal Backend Engineer in the Foundations domain, you will shape and scale core backend systems powering hundreds of thousands of customers. You’ll lead cross-team initiatives with real business impact, steer technical roadmaps, and uplift the engineering organization through mentoring and enablement. Your work will connect business goals to technical decisions, driving AI-enabled and scalable infra. This is a high-visibility role at a fast-growing fintech shaping Europe’s finance workspace.

- Own end-to-end programs spanning multiple teams and functions (Legal, Risk, Compliance, leadership) with business impact
- Architect and scale core backend systems (transactions, search/indexing, billing) to support growth
- Identify investments for Foundations (permissions, AI-native integrations) and translate into roadmaps




- Mentor and enable engineers through programs and documentation to raise engineering bar
- Bridge business needs and technical decisions, communicating clearly to engineers and executives
- Designed and scaled high-volume backend architectures under growth pressure
- Led multi-team initiatives with business outcomes connected to company goals
- Autonomous and proactive in ambiguous environments, surfacing risks early
- Experienced in mentoring or enabling engineering teams at scale
