UNHRD provides essential services such as storage, easy access to critical supplies, and technical assistance. The position holder will work under the supervision of the Head of Finance in a team that provides support for all financial services to the entire UNHRD Network. /p h3THE ROLE /h3 pThe incumbent will support the UNHRD Network Finance function and contribute to the effective management of accounts payable, customer billing, master data management, cash administration, and internal control activities.



/p h3KEY RESPONSIBILITIES /h3 ul liGather information with clear direction to support the drafting of documents and preparing reports by other staff. /li liRespond to queries and elevate where appropriate, in order to provide a timely and accurate service to clients. /li liSupport processing and managing routine administrative and financial tasks in various functional areas, to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources. /li liProvide revision and proof‑reading services for standard documents, to contribute to the development of accurate documentation. /li liTake responsibility for the maintenance of set standard systems and files, to ensure information is accurate and readily available for the function. /li liIdentify simple discrepancies in statistics and data, such as missing information, and report to senior staff in order to support clients to deliver their work. /li liTake responsibility for data integrity to facilitate availability of accurate information in corporate systems. /li liProvide guidance on routine business support methods and practices to junior colleagues to ensure services are delivered consistently and to the required standards. /li liWork with a variety of individuals, taking on feedback where appropriate to assist in business support delivery for staff. /li /ul h3Other Post Requirements /h3 ul liAccounts Payable Support — Receive and Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documents, register transactions, and ensure timely approval and payment. /li liFinancial Processing Reconciliation — Assist with SAP financial entries, monitor outstanding items, and support basic reconciliations and financial documentation for internal control, audit, and management review purposes. /li liCashier Administrative Support — Manage petty cash in line with WFP procedures and provide general administrative and finance support as required. /li /ul h3Essentials: /h3 ul liKnowledge of finance and accounting principles. /li liSome experience using office equipment and computer software packages such as MS Word and MS Excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookup functions). /li liAbility to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention. /li liAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to details. /li liUses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals. /li liFlexibility and willingness to learn, with the ability to adapt to different tasks and priorities. /li /ul h3Desirables: /h3 ul liKnowledge of accounts payable workflows and invoice tracking systems. /li liExperience supporting audit activities and internal control processes. /li liFamiliarity with International Accounting Standards (IFRS/IPSAS). /li /ul h3QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:



/h3 h3Education: /h3 pCompletion of secondary school education. A post‑secondary certificate or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is desirable. /p h3Experience: /h3 ul liAt least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, budget, treasury, or related business support functions. /li liExperience in accounts payable, invoice processing, and financial reconciliation activities. /li liExperience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP, or similar enterprise resource planning platforms. /li liExperience in an international organization, humanitarian environment, or shared service setting is desirable. /li /ul h3Language: /h3 pFluency (Level C) in English. /p h3TERMS AND CONDITIONS /h3 pThe World Food Programme offers a competitive compensation package, which will be determined based on the contract type and the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. /p pPlease visit the WFP website for detailed information about working with WFP and its operations. /p pBrindisi salary scale: UN - Salary Scale /p h3Applicants must: /h3 ul liBe an Italian or other EU citizen, or hold a valid permit to live and work in Italy; and /li liLive within commuting distance (100 km or approximately 1.5 hours of travel time) of the WFP UNHRD Brindisi Hub, or be willing to relocate at their own expense to an area within commuting distance of the duty station.
