As our European energy business continues to grow, we are looking for a customer-focused Solution Engineer to help translate complex technical requirements into reliable and commercially relevant charging solutions.
Role Purpose The Solution Engineer provides pre-sales technical support and solution consulting for customers, partners, and internal commercial teams. The role is responsible for understanding customer requirements, designing suitable EV charging solutions, presenting technical concepts, and coordinating with Product Management and R&D; to validate solution feasibility.
The Solution
Engineer supports opportunities from early technical discovery through solution validation and project handover, while helping improve products, tools, and working processes through structured market and customer feedback.
Key Responsibilities
1.Pre-sales Technical Support
- Provide technical consultation and pre-sales support to customers, distributors, service partners, and internal sales teams.
- Lead technical discovery discussions to understand customer use cases, site conditions, operational requirements, and integration needs.
- Respond to technical questions, requests for information, and solution-related sections of tenders or customer proposals.
- Support product demonstrations, technical workshops, customer meetings, and industry events.
2.Solution Design and Presentation
- Design and recommend suitable AC and DC charging solutions based on customer requirements and applicable charging scenarios.
- Prepare and present solution concepts, system architecture, product configuration, and technical value propositions.
- Support solution sizing, product selection, interface definition, and basic integration planning.
- Ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, clearly documented, and aligned with current product capabilities.
3.Technical Coordination and Project Support
- Coordinate with Product Management, R&D;, Technical Support, Service, and Project Delivery teams to validate customer solutions.
- Provide technical coordination during solution validation, pilot activities, and project implementation handover.
- Identify technical dependencies, risks, and gaps, and support the definition of mitigation actions.
- Maintain clear technical communication with customers and internal stakeholders until open solution topics are resolved.
4.Customer and Partner Enablement
- Build trusted technical relationships with customers, channel partners, installers, and service providers.
- Deliver product and solution training for customers and partners where required.
- Support certifications, workshops, proof-of-concept activities, and other solution-related internal initiatives.
- Promote consistent technical positioning and effective use of Autel products and solution capabilities.
5.Product Feedback and Continuous Improvement
- Collect and structure customer, partner, and market feedback for Product Management and R&D.;
- Support product improvements by identifying recurring technical needs, integration gaps, and usability issues.
- Contribute to the development of reusable solution documentation, technical presentations, FAQs, and best-practice materials.
- Recommend improvements to internal pre-sales and solution engineering processes.
6.Key Success Measures
- Quality, accuracy, and responsiveness of pre-sales technical support.
- Conversion of customer requirements into feasible and competitive solution designs.
- Effectiveness of technical presentations, workshops, and solution validation activities.
- Timely resolution of technical questions, risks, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Customer and partner satisfaction with technical engagement.
- Quality of product feedback, documentation, and internal knowledge sharing.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Energy Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Required 3+ years of relevant experience of experience in solution engineering, pre-sales engineering, technical consulting, application engineering, or another customer-facing technical role.
- Experience in EV charging,
energy, electrical infrastructure, automotive, mobility, renewable energy, or a related industry is preferred.
- Experience working with international customers, partners, or cross-functional technical teams is an advantage.
Technical Knowledge
- Good understanding of EV charging systems, including common AC and DC charging scenarios.
- Familiarity with OCPP and charging infrastructure communication or integration concepts.
- Ability to understand electrical and system-level requirements and translate them into practical customer solutions.
- Ability to read and explain technical documentation, specifications, system diagrams, and product configuration information.
- Knowledge of local electrical standards, grid requirements, or charging regulations is an advantage.

Languages and Travel
- Fluent English is required.
- Italian is/are required or strongly preferred.
- Additional European languages are an advantage.
- Mandarin is preferred.
Role Scope and Boundaries
- This is primarily a pre-sales and solution engineering role; it does not carry direct sales quota ownership unless explicitly stated.
- The role supports technical solution definition and project handover but is not the sole owner of end-to-end project delivery.
