Geotab is seeking a Field Service Technical Specialist who will support customers, installers, product teams, and field service initiatives through technical expertise, installation quality, and innovative solutions. If you love automotive technology, customer collaboration, and solving complex technical challenges, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you! /p h3What you'll do: /h3 pAs a Field Service Technical Specialist, your key area of responsibility will be supporting product development, customer implementations, installation partners, pilot programs, and field service quality. You will provide technical support for product design, installations, testing, troubleshooting, installer certification, audits, documentation, and strategic initiatives. You will work closely with Product, RD, Sales, Field Services, Learning and Development, customers, resellers, and installation partners to ensure Geotab solutions are designed, installed, and supported effectively.br/To be successful in this role, you will be organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. You will bring strong communication,
analytical, problem‑solving, relationship‑building, and customer service skills, along with the ability to learn new technical information and share it effectively with others. /p h3How you'll make an impact: /h3 pProvide design support for the New Product team, analyzing user’s requirements, defining product specifications, field and simulation testing. /p pSupport customers with technical details, technical specifications and data requirements based on Geotab product offerings. /p pSupport sales with technical applications based on requirements from Resellers / Customers. /p pSupport Installation partners and their installers real time when necessary. /p pProvide specific technical installation requirements and wiring schematics /p pStay relevant to new advances in technology and be flexible to adapt to the growing market demands. /p pBe innovative through researching and presenting new ideas. /p pCreate and Implement Installer Certification Tests /p pUpdate modules with latest Geotab Product information /p pParticipate in installer performance evaluation and audits. /p pEnsure company installation quality standards are communicated and adhered to in the field. /p pUpdate all installation documents and product guides with latest information. /p pWork with installers to ensure they understand and use the Field Services department price list for installation services. /p pWhen required, perform installations in the field as a part of an installation demonstration, installation training or Pilot projects. /p pCreate Installation videos and guides by taking photo sets and video content in conjunction with our LD Teams. /p pSend out feedback surveys, support Field Services invoicing processes, and update the ticketing system. /p pContinually seek and suggest methods to improve both internal and external systems and processes within the organization, especially as related to installations and onsite services. /p pSource and qualify new installation partners. /p pResolve installer issues and concerns. /p pSupport Geotab global strategic initiatives. /p h3What you’ll bring to this role: /h3 pPost-Secondary Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience required. /p pExperience working as an installation field service specialist in Telematics, Automotive industry, or equivalent. /p pExperience with OBD and CAN communications, SAE vehicle standards, and serial data interfaces.
/p pExperience with both hardware and software integration required. /p pIn-depth knowledge of automotive electronic components. /p pExperience managing third‑party contractor relationships. /p pProficiency with automotive/electronics test equipment and hand tools. /p pKnowledge of communications systems and networks, including Cellular, GPS, and serial data. /p pStrong interpersonal relationship‑building, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. /p pAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. /p pAbility to travel internationally up to 40% of the time. /p pIf you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role!
